Identifying risks and opportunities derived from corrective actions

As a result of the internal audit carried out on the Quality Management System of the Arauca Family Compensation Fund — COMFIAR, the following improvement opportunity was identified:
“Create additional mechanisms to KAWAK for the analysis of risks and opportunities that could be generated from documented corrective actions.”
Currently, KAWAK allows corrective actions to be managed and followed up; however, it does not have specific functionality that allows, based on a documented corrective action, to identify, analyze and record in an articulated manner the possible risks and/or opportunities that may arise as a result of such action.
This need was reviewed directly with the KAWAK team in a follow-up meeting, where the possibility of integrating this management into the tool was discussed. As a result, it was decided to formalize the request through the Ideas Channel so that it can be considered as part of future updates to the platform.
Improvement proposal:
It is requested to evaluate the incorporation of functionality that allows a corrective action to be related to the identification of new risks and/or opportunities derived from its analysis or implementation.
Ideally, the functionality should allow:
- Incorporate, into the record of a corrective action, an option to determine if your analysis results in new risks and/or opportunities.
- Allow the identified risk or opportunity to be recorded and documented.
- Establish the direct relationship between the corrective action that originates the analysis and the identified risk or opportunity.
- Allow, when appropriate, such information to be transferred or linked to the Risk Management module, avoiding duplication of records.
- Maintain traceability between the corrective action, the identified risk or opportunity and the actions defined for its treatment.
- Facilitate the consultation and generation of reports to identify what risks and opportunities have arisen as a result of corrective actions.
The improvement would allow the analysis of a corrective action not to be limited only to defining and following up on the activities necessary to address a cause, but also to determine if, as a result of such action, new risks or opportunities arise that must be managed by the organization.
Therefore, we request that this proposal be considered as part of KAWAK's future updates and functional developments.
